You heard it here first! Cincinnati's own Freekbass will be opening for funk legend George Clinton 1/14/2009 at The Madison Theater in Covington, KY. Freekbass had a busy 2008 releasing 2 albums, "Grooveyard" a live album recorded on 4.18.08 at the 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati, OH and "Junkyard Waltz" a studio album, with guest appearances by Bootsy Collins, Mike Gordon, Mudbone, Jen Durkin, among others.

George Clinton released "George Clinton and His Gangtas of Love" in 2008 featuring Santana, Sly Stone, Red Hot Chili Peppers, El Debarge, The RZA, Kim Burrell, Dhani Harrison and members of the P Funk All Stars.

Freekbass was next up right after ekoostik hookah on the side stage. This is a great funk band from Cincinnati, OH who has been turning a lot of heads lately. They are also releasing a brand new cd on Oct 28 called "Junkyard Waltz" featuring guest spots from Bootsy Collins, Bernie Worrell, Mike Gordon (Phish). Barely a few songs into their set the rain started pouring. The rain itself wasn't a problem except it was almost coming in sideways. After a short rain delay Freekbass re took the stage and everyone came back down and had a great time.

Freekbass and Buffalo Killers to Record Live at 20th Century!

Freekbass announces his appearance with special guests Buffalo Killers at 20th Century Theater in Cincinnati, OH on Friday, April 18th.

The 20th Century Theater is located at 3021 Madison Road in Oakley Square. This all ages show show starts 8 pm.

- FILMING LIVE VIDEO AND RECORDING LIVE CD -

Freekbass and Buffalo Killers will play their last hometown show before each heading out to do national tours. Freekbass heads out with the “Bootsy Collins Tribute To The Godfather Of Soul Tour”, a tribute to the late James Brown. The multi-act tour will feature artists Bootsy Collins & The Hardest Working Band, Escapism (featuring Venisha Brown), Bobby Byrd Band, Afrika Bambaataa, Fred Wesley, Chuck D, Freekbass, I Candi, Djizzle and ZionPlanet10. The tour will also travel to Japan for three dates, including the famed Fuji Rock Festival in July. Buffalo Killers will head out on tour with The Black Keys.

The 20th Century concert with Freekbass and Buffalo Killers will be filmed for a live video production by Mind Ignition. In addition, Freekbass will record this show for his first live album which will be released in May 2008 by Bootzilla Productions. The CD will be available at music stores and online via download or hard copy. The live video for both performances will be available for download at www.mindignitionchannel.com at a later date.
